I soooo love it! My Blackberry Pearl!

Yippeee! I got my new Blackberry pearl this week and I so love it! Its super sexy!

And its so light weight too! Everything about it is just sooooo goood! The features are better so its much easier to use. I don't have to move my thumb far away from the keys to use the trackball since its right there in the center.

Its much smaller than the earlier one that I had and so much more jazzy looking too! My Jijaji had used it for a year but no one can tell its not new! Its as sparkling new as it can be! Thanks Jijaji, once again!

Now I can even take pictures from my phone and the quality is super cool too!

Today when I went to pick Betu from school he insisted that I click his picture from my phone and then went about telling everyone that "Humne naya phone liya hai!" (We got a new phone) What a brag and show off he is becoming already!

Smiled a really big smile....

Today I drove on the DND flyway after a long long time. More than a month I guess. If you remember I had written long way back how I love driving and especially on the vast, empty roads of DND flyway.

So today the moment I touched the flyway I broke into a big big smile. And I could feel the smile deep inside me. :) Somehow driving on that road makes me feel like a free bird.

And it made me happy.

Chocolates...

I saw a picture of a chocolate bar - a REALLY big bar and I had to write about the chocolates and my love for them. :D I'm sure there are so many out there who share my love for chocolate to the same degree if not more. But before I write further, let me share the pic I saw..I'm sure you will also go "WOW..thats so interestingly tempting!"

Wasn't I right? The moment I saw this pic I was ready to bite in this chocolate bar!

And can you imagine, I had just written the title of the post and I got up ..almost in a daze..as if someone had hypnotized me, walked up to my fridge, took out the Hershey's Kissables from my freezer and started to chomp on them. And only after I had chomped down a few that I started writing the actual post :D

Chocolates have been my fav fav item ever since I can remember. I can almost hear all my close family members and friends saying "Ohh yes!" in unison ..hehehe...

I'm sure we must have had varieties of chocolates but somehow earliest memory is of a 5-star which Ma used to judiciously cut up in 4 equal portions and give it all four of us. I still wonder how did she manage to slice them up in such precision leaving us no chance to squib over who got a larger portion.

How my youngest Mama-Mami would get us Hershey's Kisses and mini chocolate bars. Those Snickers, Bounty, Mars, Twix, Toblerone and there are so many more. The list cna go on and on.
Snickers had been my all time fav and probably would still be its just that its been ages since I had one...a self imposed ban looking at the the growing sizes :D I just love the flavour of peanuts with chocolate.

And who can forget those melt-in-the-mouth After Eight. Yumm.. I can still feel the taste of it in my mouth when I try to imagine it :D

There are so many more brands and flavours of chocolates that I've eaten but somehow can't seem to remember at this point. So whoever is reading this, you all have got a gift idea to give me to revive my memories or shall I say taste buds about them!

However, lately my chocolate loving taste buds have had to satisfy themselves with the likes of Munch or Perk or KitKat. Just so that they have less of chocolate and more of wafers giving a (false?) satisfaction that they won't be adding much to my growing weight!

Me & My Blackberry!

And ever since I got my Blackberry - thanks to my eldest Jijaji and got the services enabled, life's been so different. I can be lying on my bed at night and can catch up with my sisters in US or a friend through either GoogleTalk or Yahoo!IM. I can write and reply to mails using it - whether personal or official. I can browse the web and read the blogs - YES!...all through my Blackberry! Its a BlackBerry 7100g model - an old but good enough for my requirements!

Whatever part of the country I'm, I'm connected to the Internet. Who needs to carry a heavy laptop just for the net connection now! :D It reminds me of the time when we were travelling to UP in mid of May for a cousins' wedding, I was almost giving hour to hour updates to my SIL/BIL/MIL via chat. :D They were quite excited about the wedding but due to some constraints weren't able to make it for the wedding.

And it turned out so much cheaper too since there's no extra charge on Internet connectivity on roaming but a lot if you SMS or call. So worked out great for all of us. :D

And when I don't want to use the Internet, I've my default game that comes with it 'Brickbreaker' to the rescue. Its an age old game but I really love it. Have been playing for almost a year now and am still not bored of it. Now DH is also addicted to that game.

So to summarise.. I LOVE MY BLACKBERRY! And THANK YOU Jijaji!

Fetish for err....footwear.

I'm sure the title of my post would have elicited giggles from some, made some snigger, awed some and maybe some even rolled their eyes!

I'm sure each of us have a fetish for something. Something which others wouldn't know. Something amusing or weird or funny. So as the title says I've a fetish for footwear. Whenever we are out in the market, I just cannot resist looking in at the footwear shops. And so many times I end up buying too even when I really really do not require any more pairs.
How many pairs do I currently own? I have no clue. But they are way too many that I know. Its a count that would put anyone to shame.

So when we were rummaging through the footwear cupboard during the cleaning up session after the whitewash, DH got to see the number of pairs that I have. He was flabbergasted. He asked me if I am trying to beat the record of Imelda Marcos in having the maximum number of pair of footwear :P

If I start to count the ones I remember, I have about 3 fancy marriage wear kinds, 3 sandals styles with varying heel sizes, one jooti, one fancy chappal styled, one regular slip-ons, one pair of sport shoes, another pair of slip on cloth shoes besides the house slip on chappals. These are the ones that I remember straight off. Its quite a possibility that I might have a pair or two more and don't remember.:P

And its not that I just buy them and don't wear them. There are a few pairs that I use very very regularly and there are few which are used occasionally.

Capturing on camera!

I love clicking. Something which anyone who knows me will vouch for. Be it festival celebrations at home, get-together, dinners, parties, travelling or just nothing. I just love to click.

There are times when I've thought of joining a professional photography course and learn the finer things for clicking great pictures. But I have no clue when will that happen. What I know is that it will happen for sure but when don't know. Maybe when I'm 40, maybe 50, maybe 80! :D

The other day when I was driving down the DND flyway from work to home, I saw the sky full of clouds although scattered a bit. And I saw sun rays streaming down from between the clouds. It just looked soooooooo beautiful and how I wished I had camera to capture that! I'm sure you would have seen something like this many a times but did you feel like capturing it on camera? When I told this to DH and some other friends later they all said, "Its so common. Whats there to capture on camera about it?" But for me it was! So that's the difference between me and the others.

I see a crooked tree, with branches twisting in different directions and I exclaim "Wow! That's such a beautiful tree" and my friends would say "Huh?" and roll their eyes.

I like to capture people too but I guess my real desire is to capture nature, architecture or anything that amuses me.

I remember when I was working for a company who had made the website thecpmall.com, which sadly no longer exists now. On the home page of the site, there was a section called "CPCam". Here we would post pictures that we would click personally everyday at Connaught Place (New Delhi) and post on the site with some interesting caption underneath.

The idea was to show the plush side of the Connaught Place, to entice and lure people to come and spend time at CP to do shopping, eating or just about anything. Well this is something which I realised much later as whenever I would be going out to click I would click the oddest of pictures and finally the CEO spoke to me in length saying that the pictures you click are good but maybe for a photography magazine and not for the site. I remember he pointed out a picture that I had clicked recently which had 2 street urchins relaxing and laughing under the large square pillar style hoardings. Then he pointed out another picture where I had captured an old frail guy with long overflowing beard walking with a huge ball shaped thing on his head and titled it as something like "Atlas carrying the earth?".

I tried for sometime to capture the so called 'plush' side of CP, and managed to click some good ones. The CEO really appreciated one picture which I had clicked from the 12th floor of a tall building just outside the outer circle of CP. It almost looked like an aerial view and it did look beautiful. But soon I got bored of it. How much can you click pictures of people carrying shopping bags, people licking away the ice creams, people walking holding hands in hands..how much? So I gave up the task. I felt I couldn't do it as my mind thought and looked at things very differently than what was expected.

Anyhow, those are the things from the past. Coming back to the current scenario, now I'm craving for a camera which can aide me in clicking some great pictures and stash away my 2 MP camera that I got 3 years ago. But it would be bad on my part not to praise it. I've clicked some really nice pictures from it too!. The only example lying on my office comp is this one below that I clicked during our trip to Andamans' in December 2005.

Few things that I would like to do in my life!

Listed below are some of the things that I would like to do in my life are:

1. Ride a bike
2. Own a SUV
3. Bungee jumping
4. Rock climbing and rappelling
5. Paragliding
6. Ride a hot air balloon
7. Travel in a ship for 2-3 days to anyplace!
8. Scuba diving
9. Visit Leh-Laddakh
10. A trip around the world (almost every person's fantasy! :D ..right?? ).

The sequence in which I've written them is purely random. I would love to do them in any order.
