What do you do when...

...you are introduced to your colleagues in the new department where you have just moved and that colleague says "Welcome Abode" instead of "Welcome Aboard"?

Initially I thought I was hearing it wrong but when the same colleague sent me some information and wrote the word as I had heard it i.e. "abode", I just smiled and...smiled :D

  1. blame it on stress or on recession induced stress...

  2. Well, maybe your new colleague spends so much time in office that it has become his/her 'abode' and therefore he/she welcomed you 'abode'

  4. erm... maybe he's inviting you to his abode? presuming he/she's decent enough... i'd write back saying "sure! when am i invited to your abode?"

  5. hee hee, these types are rampant in India. I was watching the Filmfare awards when one of the young Slumdog millionaire boys said they were 'fecilitated' in Hollywood not once but twice! I too am guilty of some howlers but that's due to my dyslexia - I can't spell correctly.
