May 12, Thursday

You remember my earlier post about the importance of this date and how it is still etched in my mind?

I just realised that this year we have the May 12 falling on a Thursday. (I do not know how many other May 12 have fallen on a Thursday since 1983 till date. Do you?). And when I realised this I had a big smile on my face. I was taken back to this day in the year 1983. And the rest you have already read about :)

This whole date and day together are etched on my mind so hard and am sure even if I, god forbid, have Alzheimer's in my old age, I will never forget this :)

Happy Mothers Day!

A day which didn't hold any special meaning for me has started on an exceptionally nice note.

Hubby made a nice cuppa ginger flavoured black tea. And then followed it up with yummy breakfast of uttapam, again made by him.

And just a while ago he bought me few kurtas.

And well well I guess today is the right time to announce to the world a special news. There's going to be another baby in the house this October :)

Moved my photo blog

Due to space issues with my blogger account, I've moved my photo blog to a new URL and it is

I couldn't keep the same blog URL since blogger doesn't delete the URL immediately and waits for 90 days :(

...your son looks at your pot belly and asks "Aapke tummy mein baby hai?"

The new "10 Rupees" coin

Seen the new 10 Rupess coin? I loved the design. It looks so pretty.

When I first saw it lying on the table I wondered it was the leftover coin from our europe trip last year from one of the countries. Only when I picked it up that I saw that it was our own currency. So how do you like it?

Edited to add:

The size of this coin is almost the size of the old 2 rupee coin with a difference of maybe just one or 2 mm in the dia. And this new 10 Rupees coin is quite light too.

What do you do when...

...people tell you "you still look the same as you did 10 yrs ago" while I'm 15KG heavier than I was 10 yrs ago?

I wonder if they are lying blatantly or did I look overweight even then?

South Asian Bands Festival

I'm on my way back from the music concert organised by SAARC and ICCR in "Purana Qila" and I have to say Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy are just AMAZING! Truly truly amazing! I'm so glad I made it to the concert today.

The way they kept the crowd enthralled, involved and alive was just too good.

And the cherry on the cake was being able to meet them in person. I was awed by their simple and down to earth nature. They chit chatted so casually and freely with no airs whatsoever!
