Is it ok to...

...not wanting to go on a trip with someone (close family) when they are really excited about taking you along?

Somehow I'm not at all inclined to go. And I can't pinpoint the reason. I just know that I don't want to go.

  6. Agree with all the above comments - don't go if you don't want to, make a nice believable excuse :-)

  9. if you really really don't want to go and can't say that (and i can u'stand if you can't say that honestly to them)... then make an excuse and opt out. it's best to go with your hunch.

  11. What a familiar feeling I've had on so many occasions!
Often I was pleasantly surprised at the end of the trip to realise that I HAD enjoyed despite having initial misgivings!
But more often than not, my initial gut feelings have been proven right....

    Go with your heart...lady!!

  14. it better be normal 'coz it happens to me so many times that i would be classified abnormal if this phenomenon weren't abnormal.

despite my "all or nothing attitude", i am still in agreement with Stone's comment above... a little discomfort can be borne away in a shorter trip while still avoiding a long-term face-off/stand-off...

  19. Oh yes, I am sure it is! Afterall, if you are not happy being there, it would show, and that would be worse than not going at all!!!
